Chick and Duck

Chick and duck went out for a walk, along a country road, passing the same tree, the same flower, the same river... From morning till night, they spoke words that seemed to be separated by mountains and rivers. Shared scenery, divergent thoughts, collided to create humorous sparks. This book explores, in an open-ended manner, a perplexing question: Can people with different ways of thinking come together?

This is a tale of the "philosophical chicken" and the "health-conscious duck." The chicken, curious and inquisitive, asks thought-provoking questions, but the duck responds with unrelated answers. The chicken's patience wears thin, while the duck remains blissfully unaware. One is a deep thinker, while the other embraces a carefree lifestyle. The "plastic" friendship between the chicken and the duck brings about hearty laughter, yet their interdependence also elicits bittersweet emotions.

The author presents the chicken and the duck as the dual protagonists, using the familiar format of a fairy tale to expound upon the profound meaning encapsulated in the idiom "when chickens talk to ducks." Meanwhile, the illustrator employs distinct color tones to visually differentiate the perspectives of the chicken and the duck, providing a more intuitive representation of their disparities. The chicken's viewpoint is depicted through vivid and vibrant color palettes, accompanied by imagery that evokes imagination and contemplation. In contrast, the duck's perspective is conveyed through muted tones and intricate lines, creating an impression of rationality and composure.
