Look, Light Elves in the Eye

The lovely "Light Elves" travel through the tear film, the sclera (the white of the eye), the cornea (a clear layer over the pupil), the iris, the lens, the vitreous body, the retina, the optic nerve, and finally the brain to witness the amazing journey of light in 0.8 milliseconds.

A life-education picture book written in fairy tale language illustrates that our eyes are not only about vision, but also a part of our body and even our entire life that requires our constant attention.

Goo-dong is Coming

by Pre-school Pictorial (text), Tomoko Koyama (ill.)

A rabbit is sleeping near a peaceful lake. She is startled awake by a loud Goo-dong sound. However, when she looks around, she doesn't see anything. She is a little scared, so she runs up into the forest, crying, "Goo-dong is coming!" When the Fox, Monkey, Bear, and Zebra saw her, they immediately began running. The running group got bigger and bigger until the king of the forest, the Lion, became aware of it. But no one knew what the Goo-dong Monster was...

The Little Cloud

A sweet picture book about a little cloud for toddlers and young preschoolers.

Being one little cloud can be lonely at times; no one wants to make friends with her; everyone avoids her and prefers to be near the sun. The little cloud cried, and the rain made everyone dislike her even more. Will the little cloud smile again? Will she be able to find happiness and friendship?

Don't be afraid of being alone. What really matters is discovering your own uniqueness.

A Bear Takes Corn

by Lyu Aiming (text & ill.),

This tale is based on a well-known nursery rhyme. A bear went to the farm one night to steal corn cobs. It broke off a stick, then lost it when it broke off another... Based on the true story of Chinese dancer Lihua Tai, The Visible Sounds tells the uplifting tale of a young child dealing with the frustration and solitude of hearing loss.
