As the holidays approach, I'd want to take this moment to wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.


We completed our Spring and Fall catalog in 2022, with the most cherished works picked and represented by our agency, and we are very grateful to have you read and provided your feedback on them with us. We will be constantly on the lookout for new works that have international appeal.


Today we would like to share with you the upcoming picture book works from our awarded author: Cao Wenxuan, the first Chinese author to win the Hans Christian Andersen Author Award.

Cao Wenxuan

Cao Wenxuan is one of the most celebrated children’s writers in China and a professor at Peking University. His representative works include novels such as The Grass House and Bronze and Sunflower, each has been sold for over millions of copies worldwide and translated into more than 10 languages including English, French, German, Japanese and Korean. Cao was awarded the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2016.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Birds, kites, clouds, rain, roses, trees, boats, seas, lighthouses, lanterns, dogs, cats, rivers, melon fields… Each character in the book is dissatisfied with his or her situation and wishes to be the next one. They all have legitimate reasons for aspire to be someone else. However, when they look up to others, they keep forgetting to appreciate their own circumstances.

We’ve all wanted or dreamed about becoming someone else, but does that solve the problem? The value of a person’s situation is determined by how he or she perceives it, and if you keep looking up to others, you will forget to appreciate your own.

Alessandro Sanna

A much-celebrated Italian illustrator in Europe, whose watercolour paintings are known for its natural and unrestrained style as well as his wild imagination. Alessandro is now teaching at Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. He has been working on a long-term basis for magazines such as Vanity Fair, the New York Times Book Review and New Yorker and delivered over 70 incredible paintings so far.

Alessandro is the winner of Hans Christian Andersen Award of Italy for Art Books and Illustration, German International Youth Library White Raven Award, Bologna Ragazzi Award for the most recommended book,and short-listed in the 2016 Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Trees await the arrival of birds, sailboats await the arrival of sailors, war horses await the arrival of horsemen, cherries await the arrival of spring, children await the arrival of their mothers to breastfeed, today awaits the arrival of tomorrow… A poem in which the main melody is the rhythm of life.

Using parallel montage to weave countless moving moments of life to paint a majestic and complete picture of life, different images are like switching movie shots one by one. There is conception, birth, growth, and death; there is war and freedom; there is work and harvest; and there is a more fateful cycle.

Dusan Kallay 

A master illustrator from Slovakia and the first artist who has won Hans Christian Andersen Award and the First Prize at Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava together. He is seen by many established illustrators worldwide as their mentor. Dusan has achieved an incredible success in arts, whose works were featured in over 150 international exhibition tours and received 46 awards. He is the illustrator for more than 200 children’s books including world famous classics such as Alice in Wonderland, The Ants and the Cricket, Czechoslovak Fairy Tale and The Complete Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde as well as the masterpieces of Shakespeare.

He is also the winner of the Special Award at Biennial of Illustrations Barcelona and rewarded by UNICEF as “Illustrator of the Year”.

A man and his soul made plans to travel south… The man entered a tavern one day, and the soul awaited him in the treetops; he reveled in the Hot Spring Hotel, and the soul awaited him; he did not hesitate to leave the warm fire, and the soul awaited him outside the house. He helped someone while traveling. In exchange, he received a large sum of money. He lived in large houses, hired servants, and purchased a large number of sheep. But he soon lost everything in the casino. He had forgotten his original agreement with the soul and had grown increasingly obese. Unknown how many springs and autumns have passed, and the soul has grown old…

Igor Oleynikov

The 2018 Hans Christian Andersen Prize winner

A Russian artist. Born in Mosco,1953, Igor worked as an animation designer in the early days while drawing illustrations for children’s journals and books. He became a professional illustrator since 2008 and drew for over 80 published books. His illustrations are eye-catching and intriguing with embeddedt raditional Russian cultural elements that stand out from all the rest.
